I have not run these two side by side on a PAR meter myself, so here is where my read comes from: both companies' published spec sheets, the independent light-map tests growers post, and the long-running threads on r/hydro, r/SpaceBuckets and the Spider Farmer and VIVOSUN owner groups. The picture that comes out of all of it is consistent, and it is not quite the marketing story either brand tells. These are two lights built to different briefs, and once you see that, the choice gets easy.

The AeroLight A100 is a 100W panel designed to light a 2x2 foot space, and its headline trick is the circulation fan built into the middle of the board. Which one fits your grow

Forget the spec sheet for a second and find yourself in one of these.

Buy the Spider Farmer SF2000 if you are running, or about to run, a 2x4 tent. This is the default for anyone who wants to grow fruiting crops, keep several plants going at once, or simply not think about lighting again for a few years. It is the strong, safe choice and the one I would put most people on.

Buy the VIVOSUN AeroLight A100 if your world is a 2x2 tent, a single shelf, or a corner for herbs, salad and seedlings, and you would rather the fan and the scheduling live inside the light than clip a fan on and rig a timer. It is also the right call if you want to start small on purpose and daisy-chain your way up later, one panel at a time.

Buy the AeroLight as a second, supplemental light if you already run a big board and want to even out a dark corner, lift a propagation shelf, or add controllable airflow to part of a larger space. Its daisy-chain design and low draw make it a tidy add-on rather than a main event.

Buy neither, and look at a bigger board, if your space is already a 4x4. Both of these are the wrong size for that footprint. A single SF2000 will leave the edges thin, and the AeroLight would need four panels to fill it. What the wattage actually costs to run

Here is the part the spec sheets skip. The AeroLight pulls 100W and the SF2000 pulls 200W, so on a typical 16-hour schedule that is roughly 1.6 versus 3.2 kilowatt-hours a day. On your bill that is a modest gap, real but not dramatic, and it is not a reason on its own to pick one over the other. The useful way to think about it is this: run the light your space actually needs and no more. Do not buy the AeroLight expecting connected control in the box. Without the GrowHub controller it is a manually dimmed light, a good one, but not a smart one. If the app is the point, price the controller in before you decide.
